Wow it has been so long since my last post.  I believe it was back in July when we were celebrating our one anniversary for Lost in the script. I apologize I just don't put pressure on myself, honestly, I blog when I'm inspired. With that being said here are some cool things that have been going on.

Cash is in second grade now and making great strides. He is doing well in math, however, is struggling to learn how to read. We are in the middle of getting him evaluated for dyslexia. Since he was a baby, he has little to no interest in reading. Actually, when he was a baby, he would throw the books at us. At the time we thought it was kind of funny, but looking back it's like "darn, this kid really doesn't like books. Whether its dyslexia or something else between us and his great support at school I'm sure we'll get Cash reading soon enough. Not too much has changed in his IEP.  He is still receiving all his services OT, PT, speech and spending time in autism support. As far as education I think Cash is exactly where he's supposed to be, and the rest will happen when it's supposed to. We have confidence in that. "But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him". Jeremiah 17:7

The coolest thing to watch this year is seeing Cash make friends and getting invited to playdates. These are things I took for granted with my first two sons. Cash is very friendly and social. However, it wasn't until this year that friendships are starting to forge. Back in the summer I was at the park with Cash. I saw him starting to run towards someone with a huge smile on his face. He hugged this boy who was equally excited to see him. If I'm being honest this brought tears to my eyes. And it looked like it had the same effect on the parents of the other little boy. The boy's name is Rock. Cash recognized him from school. He and Rock connected in their support class. Rock is hearing impaired. Thats why this connection was so special to Rock's parents and me. Since then, Cash and Rock have had some playdates. He has been to our home and vice versa. Rock's Mom, Britney was kind enough to take Cash to Sky Zone with them. They had a blast. You see what comes easy for most takes time for these special kiddos. "For it was you who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well". Psalm139:13-14

Back in November I had Cash's conferences. We had spoken about a lot about the work and his progress academically. But I was  curious, and hesitantly asked "How do other kids receive Cash? His teacher replied quickly with "great''!  He went on to tell me how when he looks out on the playground at recess Cash is out there running around with all the kids and holding court. He said some students will even pop into the classroom just to say hi to Cash. What an amazing thing to hear. Listen I never doubt Cash and his abilities, I sometimes doubt people and their kindness towards others. Past experiences have made me that way. However, I'm a work in progress.  "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord". Psalm 31:24

The pictures I have included are Cash and Rock enjoying time at our house and sky zone. Talk soon... Meg
